About — West Coast Sports Management

West Coast Sports Management was many years in the making. In fact, when Len Strelitz, Jim Lentine and Dave Penniall were playing pro baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals organization; and even when Dave and childhood friend Bill Shupper were playing "sandlot" baseball, the seeds were sown. Jim Evans completes the team, and what a team it is.

If any of them could, they would probably change places with a young baseball prospect, just headed for stardom in a new century loaded with opportunity. But who would they turn to for guidance if they were in such an uncertain position?

The only logical place would be a management company with both baseball and business experience, having been there, having seen the ups and downs that present themselves in every professional baseball player's career.

That is the combination of experience and skill available at WCSM, where the goal is to help make each player improve and become a success in all areas.

The pitfalls will still be there, the hard work, the surprises and disappointment; but with these five on your side, you will be prepared for them and guided along the road at every turn.

Len Strelitz, Director and Principal, has been a professional baseball player, a scout and worked in upper management negotiating and signing major league baseball players, making him indispensable ally at signing time and beyond.

Jim Lentine, also a professional player, scout and minor league hitting instructor gives WCSM a distinct advantage with his knowledge of hitting, and his experience in scouting, working with many present day major league players.

Dave Penniall, a Certified Financial Planner and Principal spent 7 years as a professional player and that, along with his extensive financial services and sports agent background, gives players the benefit of both worlds of experience.

Bill Shupper, Principal, Management Specialist and die hard baseball fan, makes sure every athlete who signs with WCSM also becomes a businessman with crucial financial skills they must have to survive in the complicated and high stakes world professional baseball players find themselves.

Jim Evans, with many years of experience in issues relating to sponsorship agreements and other critical business matters, assures our clients they will have professional representation at the helm when headed into what can be very rough waters at certain stages of their careers.

Put them all together, and you have West Coast Sports ManagementPros Helping Pros.
