Kenshin Kawakami selects West Coast Sports Management
Free agent right-handed pitcher Kenshin Kawakami, the Chunichi Dragons' ace starter known for his ability to excel in pressure situations and one of the most successful pitchers in professional baseball, has selected West Coast Sports Management as his representative in Major League Baseball and North America. Kawakami is represented by the Brighton Company and Shigeyuki Mito in Japan.
Kawakami is 112-72 with a 3.22 ERA over his career, and his .609 winning percentage is bested by only nine active Major League starting pitchers with at least 1500 career innings pitched. A former recipient of Japan's Sawamura Award as the best starting pitcher, Kawakami's intention is to play Major League Baseball beginning in 2009 and is able to negotiate immediately as a free agent.
